I use the foldables with all my high school kids, and they love it. As a matter of fact my seniors are the one who complain the least it, because they hate to do book work.

Hi there,

That’s awesome that things are going well for you! I have a question. Do you do the foldables even with the older kids; ie do you use them for your Econ class? You know, I *dreaded* student teaching econ when I found out that was what I would be assigned. However, I found that I really enjoyed it. As long as we did hands-on activities and introduced some fun controversy to make discussions interesting, it was great. But, I did always wonder about what to do with seniors. They seldom seem very motivated to do more than pass.

I 2nd that motion: if you have a class w/Ms. Zike (wowza) It was amazing when she came to my city. I would pay money out of my own pocket to go and do a week long seminar with her OR get certified! It was just amazing. I’m so glad you learned a lot.

I can always use the virtual hugs. The cause of the bad environmemt could be that, but two years ago it was pretty good here.

(((Kary))) I kept thinking today: is our school environment reflective of whats going on in the world around us like the recession, etc.

Good for you, giving up StuCo! Maybe if you suffer through it this year, she’ll work with you next year. I don’t understand why admins don’t listen to us. . . it definitely impacts the learning environment.

I taught sociology briefly for one year.. . so i can try to help if you need it–although, you have tons more experience than I do!

Its okay 2 hate what ur teaching. I hate my teaching load this year! Let me ask u this. I have an ap class this year w. 3 kids and 2 honors world. Double planning is KILLING me. I was thinking I should plan 4 ap and just water down for honors. Same stuff at exact time but I’m not sure how minimize it for honors. Any suggestions?
