Convention
I have spent the last three days at the Texas State Student Council Convention. 4300 kids attended it. This was my second year to attend, and it is more for the kids than the sponsors. The attend session to learn projects and things stu co’s are doing all over Texas. We go to Six Flags on the second night of the convention and wrap it up on the third moring. We missed two days of school and had a lot of fun. My problem child was still my problem child and I thought about not taking them with us, but the mom would not have liked that at all. This child decided to go off on their own at six flags with someone from another Stu co instead of staying with our group, then we had to tell a lie to get this student to come to us when 18 people were ready to leave. The student did not want to , and I told them that they were not allowed to be at Six Flags unless a sponsor was there as well and we were leaving. I walked the 5 kids left to their cars and saw them off. I figured this student was going to do something, so when a nother student called to see if we were meeting back at the school or going straight home, this confirmed what I was thinking. We called mom and sure enough they were not at home and mom was furious. All the student really had to do was call mom and ask if they could stay, but that did not happen. This is the student that I have caught using Stu Co to skip classes and has generally not behaved in an appropiate manner all year. This student does not really like me and has no respect for me, and everytime they do something wrong I am the one to catch them when they are doing it and having to find a number to call home or to have my co-sponsor call home. What is with some of these kids these days? It really makes me think twice about doing this again. I mean we were responible for the students while they were with us and then she does this stupid thing. ARGH!
